PERSEUS ======= A game for the ZX Spectrum 128k by RetroBensoft Polydectes entrusts Perseus with an impossible mission: to find Medusa's lair and kill her. To do this, Perseus must obtain the gold coins in the possession of the mythological creatures that will appear along his path such as minotaurs, cyclopes, grayae, and satyrs. With them, Perseus will be able to gather from the Statues of Delphi the six pieces of the Parchment of Wisdom, which will guide him into Medusa's hiding place. But don't let Perseus be deceived by his pride, cause you know sometimes words have two meanings. Power-ups Bottle = Energy Knife = 5 more knives Ray = Speed up Shield = Invisibility Controls (keyboard, sinclair joystick, kempston joystick) LEFT - Walk left RIGHT - Walk right UP – High jump / Climp up ladder DOWN - Crouch down / Pick up a power-up / Climb down ladder FIRE- Punch / Enter into a gate / Throw knives (when Perseus is crouching down) LEFT/RIGHT + UP – Lateral jump (when Perseus is idle) LEFT/RIGHT + UP – Long jump (after Perseus has walked a couple of steps) LEFT/RIGHT + DOWN – Roll over (after Perseus has walked a couple of steps) Default keys O - Left P- Right Q - Up A - Down SPC - Fire H - Pause (fire to resume) Y - Quit (fire to confirm, any other key to resume) Tips If you try to long-jump before Perseus has walked a couple of steps, instead he will make a lateral jump. If you try to roll over before Perseus has walked a couple of steps, instead he will crouch down.
