You might have though already about how it would be if you could play your favourite ZX Spectrum game on PC, suited into modern graphics with all the kinky things that nowadays PCs offer. I admit that something like that would never pop up in puritan spectrists mind, however all the rest of us will definitely welcome this thought, especially if having the Speccy darling already sold long ago. You have the opportunity to make your thoughts come true thanks to handful of fanciers who are willing to spend their free time by remaking old games for the PC (without charging any royalty at the end).
On this site you can find several of these remakes created during recent years. All of the games here are strictly conditioned by the fact that they are based on/remake of a Spectrum game, intended to run on PC (DOS/Windows/Java/Flash), and they are finalized! You wouldn't even believe how many titles are being remaked nowadays. The trouble is, however, that there are just few of them that really are drawn to their successful end and finalized.
Anyway, if you are becoming interested in this topic right now, I'd like to point out that there exist portals specializing themselves on offering remakes. First, I'd like to aim on Retro Remakes that keep under their thumb probably the highest rate of remakes of different eight and sixteen bit platforms. Catching up them is the RetroSpec web which is quite "poor" in terms of the number of titles, however on the other hand they offer Spectrum games remakes only. Finally, there exists the Remakes section on the World of Spectrum where you can find a (most complete?) list of ZX Spectrum remakes, including those currently under development.
